Because of the nature of the work we do, there are always gaps to fill and hands needed somewhere. This is an opportunity to work on a special project within a specific team and make an impact. It is a unique opportunity to learn about startups en route to starting your own or beefing up your CV for an MBA.
What does this role involve?
You will be responsible for supporting the relevant team through a combination of, but not limited to: project management, writing and editing, research, and potentially administrative support. You will “own” a specific project and be responsible for organising, leading, and helping to ensure it is executed. You will be onboarded and integrated into the team like any other team member.
- Manage special projects in coordination with other departments and/or organisations on behalf of the relevant stakeholders
Responsible for taking care of a project’s finance, management, operations, and everything else in between.
You will be the backbone of the project you are taking on and be responsible for its full life cycle or a very specific part thereof
Qualifications and Skills
Essential
Degree or equivalent
Good working knowledge of project management tools and techniques
Able to absorb information rapidly, via both verbal and written communications
Highly numerate, and able to interpret statistical data
Superior communication skills; able to demand action and project progress whilst maintaining good relationships with all parties
Enthusiasm and passion; embracing change as a way of working with proven ability to challenge status quo
Proven ability to work in strict confidence and ability to be sensitive to confidential matters
Possess a high level of professionalism, tact and diplomacy are paramount
Able to work independently, using own initiative to produce work at a superior standard with minimal supervision
Flexible and adaptable regarding varying scope and workload
Capable of “managing up” to ensure deadlines are met and priorities kept
Desirable
Experience working at a high-growth startup
Experience working in a marketplace business
